The dèdalo ensemble is pleased to officially confirm that the winners of the Ex-Aequo First Prize of the 5th edition of the Città di Brescia-Giancarlo Facchinetti Competition for Conductors 2025, Otis Enokido Lineham and Alexander Mackinder, have been directly admitted to the second phase of the Premio Cantelli, one of the most prestigious international conducting competitions in the world.
The news of this additional award for our Competition was announced on the evening of the awards ceremony by Corinne Baroni, director and artistic director of the Fondazione Teatro Coccia, and has now been officially confirmed with the launch of the 14th edition of the Premio Cantelli, which boasts among its winners such renowned conductors as Riccardo Muti, Eliahu Inbal, Lothar Zagrosek, and Donato Renzetti.
It was Corinne Baroni herself who relaunched the Cantelli Prize in 2020 after a 40-year hiatus following the 1980 edition.
The partnership with the Città di Brescia-Giancarlo Facchinetti Competition, whose sixth edition is scheduled for 2027, is a point of honor for our city and confirms both parties' commitment to new music and the conductors who include it in their repertoire.
